As the year comes to a close, we at P1 took some time to reminisce 2015 and realised what a great year it has been—there were many interesting events and things that were not so great, but we are thankful that these events have toughened us and brought us closer together as a team. As we list our New Year resolutions, we realised this year has to be different: we have to stick to our resolutions for them to come to fruition of our goals. We are thrilled for what 2016 has in store for us; therefore, we have come out with three ways you can make this year’s resolutions different and achievable.
Write it down
Keep a journal and write down your goals so you will not forget them. When things get out of sight, it might get out of mind as well. Writing down your resolutions is the first step to making them come to life. Keeping a record of your efforts towards achieving these goals will also help, so you can recall and remember how you’ve tried to achieve them and learn from mistakes.
Be realistic and specific
Ensure your goals are realistic. Know yourself and ask yourself what you want that is different this year. Be specific with your goals as well. If you would like to lose weight, note down how many kilograms you aim to lose within a specific period of time.
Keeping short-term goals are also helpful. When you keep short-term goals, they will encourage you to achieve them. At the end of each quarter, review your goals to see how far you’ve gone, and reward yourself to motivate yourself to keep going.
If you fail, never be too hard on yourself and never stop trying. Always believe in yourself and know what is best for you and your life.
